Friskolan Asken has been in operation since autumn 2000. From autumn 2016, the school expanded to become a grades 4–9 school with after-school care, having previously been a grades 6–9 school. The school has 326 students in grades 4–9 and is located in the picturesque Sundby Park, right next to Lake Mälaren. Friskolan Asken’s profile is based on the portfolio method, which aims to continuously monitor students' knowledge development. Students are involved in the entire process, from planning to evaluation. Each student is or becomes an expert on their own learning and is the obvious main character in student-led development conferences.

We are looking for someone who:

  • wants to have experience working with subject integration and active learning
  • wants to work in a teaching team where you, together with colleagues, plan and conduct teaching with students
  • is computer literate and has the willingness/experience to use the computer as a tool in pedagogical work
  • has a positive view of all students' ability to succeed
  • has good knowledge of the school's steering documents and is meticulous in your documentation
  • has great commitment and is proactive and initiative-taking
  • has a strong ability to communicate with students and parents in a solution-focused manner
  • has thorough knowledge of extra adaptations and children in need of special support

Education and Experience

You hold relevant education, subject competence, and/or experience. Great importance is placed on personal suitability and the willingness to work in active learning with the computer as a pedagogical tool. You will work with students who need extra adaptations and students who are in need of special support. Both individual teaching and special teacher assignments in classes may occur, in grades 4–9.

You will be part of a teaching team where you together plan, conduct, and develop teaching. The students are the primary focus, and an important part of your role is to inspire, motivate, and support students in their academic and social development. We use the portfolio method to give our students good tools to reach as far as possible in their development.

You will be part of the school's EHA work (Students in need of special support) and also participate in drawing up extra adaptations, action plans, conducting pedagogical assessments, writing applications for additional grants, and assisting management and teachers at student welfare conferences.
